The unfortunate founder of the Orchard Ranch that was in Mills Canyon and other properties, like Mills Mansion in Springer. His is the classic story of Wilfornia's Bamboozled Farmer Era. A flood washed out his fruit orchards and pretty much destroyed all of his plans and investment. He died penniless, but they let him pass in the old mansion that he no longer owned. Tough breaks.
